Non-surgical Peyronie's treatment
Reduce the curve, without an operation
A complete non-surgical plan for Peyronie's disease: treatment injected into the plaque by Prof. Raheem, combined with traction and vacuum therapy you do at home, and shockwave therapy planned around your curve.
1,200+injection treatment cycles given by Prof. Raheem

The plan
Four parts, working together
No single treatment does everything. Prof. Raheem combines them around your diagnosis, and adjusts the plan as your curve changes.
Injection treatment
Treatment injected directly into the plaque under local anaesthetic, to soften it and reduce the curve. Given by Prof. Raheem.
Modelling
Gentle stretching after each injection, at home, to guide the penis straighter as the plaque softens.
Traction and vacuum
Devices you use at home to straighten, preserve length and keep the tissue healthy during treatment.
Shockwave
Shockwave therapy to ease pain, improve blood flow and help the plaque soften, planned around your curve.
If it's new or painful
Don't wait for it to settle
Men used to be told to wait a year until the curve stopped changing. Current guidance is to start non-surgical treatment early, while the curve is still active, so it has the best chance to work. Surgery is the only thing that waits.
- Non-surgical treatment can start straight away
- Traction helps limit bending and loss of length
- Shockwave can ease painful erections and support healing
- Prof. Raheem tracks your curve and adjusts the plan as it changes

Is it for you?
Who non-surgical treatment suits
Prof. Raheem will confirm it at your full assessment.
Often a good fit if you
- Have a curve that bothers you, whether it's new or has settled
- Can still get a reasonably firm erection
- Want to avoid an operation if you can
- Can commit to modelling and devices at home for a few months
Surgery may suit you better if you
- Have a very severe curve or a marked hourglass shape
- Have weak erections that don't respond to treatment
- Still can't have sex after non-surgical treatment: see surgery

The protocol
Half the injections, from the doctor who developed it
Prof. Raheem was a principal investigator in the original UK trials of injection treatment for Peyronie's. He then developed a shortened protocol that needs about half the injections of the original approach. It's cited in the European Association of Urology guidelines.
Fewer visits
A shorter course means fewer trips to the clinic.
Combined with modelling
Injections work best alongside stretching, traction and vacuum therapy at home.
No time off
Each injection is given under local anaesthetic in a short visit.
Honest expectations
Most men see a straighter penis, not a perfectly straight one. Prof. Raheem will tell you what's realistic for you.

Questions
What men usually ask
Does the injection hurt?
It's given under local anaesthetic, so most men feel little more than a sharp scratch. Some bruising and swelling afterwards is common and settles.
How long does treatment take?
Most plans run over a few months, with short visits for each injection and modelling at home in between. Prof. Raheem will give you a timeline at your assessment.
Will my penis be completely straight?
Most men see a meaningful improvement rather than a perfectly straight penis. What matters is that sex is comfortable and the curve no longer worries you. Prof. Raheem will tell you what's realistic for you.
When can I have sex?
Usually a couple of weeks after each injection. Prof. Raheem will give you exact advice for your plan.
What are the risks?
Bruising, swelling and some pain are common and settle. Rarely there can be more serious problems, such as damage to the erectile tissue. Prof. Raheem goes through every risk with you before you decide.
Do tablets or supplements work?
Most haven't been shown to straighten the penis on their own. Some medicines can help with pain or erections as part of a wider plan.
